We hope we can service our readers with the newest non-biased information available to us and hope you will have renewed faith in our modest little paper.
As always we would like to thank the merchant who support us with their advertisement and it is our wholehearted hope that you, our readers, will continue to show your support in return by visiting these fine establishments.

There is growing concern that Luminii's continuing descent into chaos and violence in recent cycles may now be impacting Shadokhan, heart of the Klockwork empire. Reports are now surfacing which claim that the same reactionary forces behind Luminii's rebellion may also be to blame for the recent attacks against Shadokhan by armed men claiming to represent the defunct Silver Moon Knights.
Luminii, often in turmoil for the past year, worsened their own situation recently by engaging an ill-advised alliance with the dangerous Pirate Nation. This led to a series of brutal attacks against Klockwork defenses along the coastline. The number of dead and the extent of the damage are unknown at this point.
Eyewitnesses to the more recent events at Marrwater, along Shadokhan's coast, confirm that a host of men claiming to be Silver Moon Knights and assisted by Pirates were the ones who attacked the port. But the question remains, who directed these attacks in the first place? What motivated them?
Albertus Regnal, a scholar and war historian in Dreven, believes there are two distinct possibilities. 'First there is the thought that the Pirate Nation could be masterminding everything, that they are using a weakened and disorganized Luminii, and her rebels, to further their own vendetta,' he says. 'However, it is also possible that Luminii has more than a share of the blame. Having caused chaos in their own lands, they may be more than eager to try and stir the pot here by sending their rebels and Knights to our own shores.'
Shadokhan citizens living near the passes to Luminii and in coastal areas are advised to be on their guard, and report any suspicious activity to the local Klockwork authorities.
When asked for his thoughts on the rumored return of General Volaraine Shakar, Regnal said that he thought it unlikely. 'The Silver Moon Knights were defeated long ago.'

Good readers, you may recall the 'demon with pointed ears.' That is what locals were calling rebel instigator Kendra Rulyar not too long ago when, despite a bounty on her head for previous violent acts against the state, she entered the Crosswinds Tavern and attacked the local guard with several cohorts. So, it comes as no small surprise that she was merely found guilty of associating with a rebel group and was released on a fine.

The Pirate Nations arise! News of the destruction of the esteemed Captain Walsh and his brave armies in Luminii hadn't even cooled on the tongues of messengers and gossip-mongers flying throughout the regions before the Sea Wolf was prowling westward along the coast of the mainland -- our own precious coast! After laying waste to the last Klock hold-outs in Luminii, it is rumored that the audacious Pirate King, Kili Bashar himself, landed a mammoth force of soldiers, mercenaries and avaricious sailors at the mouth of the Marrwater. Out-numbered and out-foxed, the valiant soldiers guarding the port were forced to surrender. There is as yet no word for their poor families -- how did their soldiers fare? -- Did they even survive?
The news worsens, gentle readers! Spreading like a plague, the Pirate Nations then struck Tatham and Port Ethralest, moving under the cover of darkness and thick banks of unnatural fog. With the support of a huge and unnamed ally, the attacks happened so quickly that there was no time for the protecting Klock armies to call for aid from inland. News of the growing terror indicates that the Pirates intend to keep laying waste first to Shadokhan's coast, then into the interior. It is clear that the Pirate King intends to lay claim to the Dreven throne itself!
Reports of the actual damage wreaked thus far in the terrible and unprovoked attacks is uncertain. Survivors continue to pour into the capitol, each with wild and outrageous tales that include bombardment of the cities by magical means, devastation of all kinds by unknown creatures from the deep, vivid descriptions of homes and businesses completely annihilated, wholesale slaughter and kidnapping of both military and civilian forces, and all manner of plundering and pillaging.
Take heart, compatriots! This reporter has it on good authority that the great Klock Army is even now en route to deal with the usurper for once and for all. Relief is on the way to the displaced, wounded and homeless of Shadokhan's southern shores and we will see this foul threat put down! Pirate Rabble, prepare to meet your doom!
The local Druid predicts strong thunderstorms with the arrival of summer. Humidity and rising heat will plague menfolk and beast alike, so make sure to drink plenty of water and keep the livestock in the shade during the hot midday. Not much relief will be found after nightfall, so consider sleeping outside on the hottest nights.
Who Really is Behind the Counter of the Crosswinds Tavern?Greetings and Salutations! I would like to introduce myself before we get to the meat of my interview with the keeper of Dreven's most renowned tavern, The Crosswinds. I am Tania Hirushal. I only recently came to be on the staff of the Gazette, but I am enjoying my job thus far. I hope you all enjoy the stories and interviews I bring to you. Now, on to the interview. Due to recent attacks by the rebels many supplies are not getting to the places they need to. I wanted to know if these disruptions in supplies were affecting the economy of our fair city. What better place to find out than one of the most frequently visited watering holes? I couldn't think of one. So off to the Crosswind's Tavern I went. There I found the Owner and Bartender, Asa. I tried to get a last name out of the man, but he is a bit... reserved and chose not to divulge that information. T: Asa, has business within the Crosswinds been disrupted due to recent rebel activity? A: I can't say yea or nay to tha'. Now, do ya want a drink or not, missy? T: Sure, I'll have a cup of tea. Now, I have to say that I do not think it is this man's 'sparkling personality' that causes people to flock outside of Dreven and come drink here as I found his grumbling about having to get me tea less than endearing. When he returned with my tea the interview continued. T: Well, have you seen a decline in supplies recently? A: Aye. You want honey or milk with tha'? (I took some honey and continued.) T: Your shelves seem to be well stocked. Are you getting supplies from other areas? A: Missy, what you see on tha shelves be what we kin get when we kin. The cellar is fairly bare. There ain't no overstock. T: What about clientele? A: Kline, wha'? T: Patrons? Have you seen a decline in customers? A: Ah, them. Yah. We git a few, but not near as many as we used ta have. I dun know if tha's cuz of Axey's smell getting stronger or wha'. T: Do you think it could be due to the rebels? Fear of rebel activity? A: I don't know nothin' bout no rebels, missy. I just know we ain't got near as many folks payin'. Iffen this keeps up, my Abbey is gonna have ta find a nother job. And that no good fer nothin' Halfling is gonna hafta sell his barrel or start tendin' bar ta pay fer the storage fees. Iffen Abbey hasta get another job I may jis hafta put that Axey to cookin' too. T: Halfling? A: Yah, Axey be 'is name. Lives in a barrel in the kitchen. Ain't good fer much, but I enjoy a talk and smoke with him know and then. When he ain't drunk off his rocker. Which ain't often. T: I see. So, you aren't sure if the decline in patrons is due to rebels? A: I told you already I ain't. You deaf, woman? T: Well, thank you for your time, sir. I have to say, that I never noticed a strange odor coming from the kitchen and so I very much doubt that was the reason for the decline in customers. There was a good presence of Klockwork soldiers and I felt very protected and comfortable sitting inside the tavern while I finished my tea. I do not believe, my dear readers, you need fear any rebel attacks or activity within the tavern, as our wonderful leader's soldiers are vigilant and will protect you. I suggest you stop by The Crosswinds any time and have a drink as well as some wonderful conversation. Loaf 'n' JugOld-fashioned food You like your victuals plain and straightforward? Donations Needed! With the sudden influx of people fleeing the coastal regions and seeking refuge in Dreven, Mary's House, a local Orphanage, has agreed to allow a few families to stay on the grounds. Urgently needed are, bedrolls, blankets, any kind of tent even if it needs repairs. Murder Most FoulRecently, a man known only as Hollar Alu, entered into a local tavern and massacred the patrons present. The only known survivor hid beneath the tables in horror at what she was witnessing. When later questioned, Calo Lowso exclaimed, 'He was a demon! All I can remember are his red glowing eyes! I just knew I'd be next!' This appears to have been only one in a string of pointless murders. The first, a young man named Carson Wilts, was found in an alleyway in the merchant district. It's believed that whatever transpired between the two is what set the madman off. Dante Voltan, one of the nearby merchants, has volunteered his services to the government in order to help put a stop to this. Hollar Alu is known to cover himself entirely in a hooded cloak, even in the warmest of weather. Bloodstains cover him, and the smell of blood on him is strong. Under no circumstances should anyone approach this man. Please inform the local military immediately. With the government and civilians working together, this man will pay for his crimes.

What Troubles Does Luminii Send Us?In small parties they came from Luminii to Shadokhan, claiming only to walk the path of the uncorrupted, but in light of recent events, namely the uncalled for and beastly attack in that den of iniquity call the Crosswinds Tavern, we are left to wonder greatly about the portent of these simple and helpful 'monks' from Luminii. This reporter was only able to find rumor and conjecture surrounding these men dressed in white. People are left to wonder about the striking similarity of their tunics, white with a crimson crescent moon stitched onto it, any similarities to those tunics of the criminal Silver Moon Knights. What if their loyalties remain the same? Do they hold on to a time long gone and better left in the shadows of a dark and bloody history? We do not know what evil minds and traitorous murders lurk in the land of Luminii, and which they would stay on their side of the border. A large group of the so-called monks arrived in the Crosswind Tavern shortly after a mad man killed almost all of the posted guard inside. Twist of fate? And was it coincidence they pointed out that the attacked left the crime scene wounded? And why did they nothing to hunt down the murdering scum and bring him to justice? The leader of these monks, a man called Bishop Rahn, reported to the local authority that they are only in Dreven to act as helpers to aid the displaced from the pirates attack, and as well as the personal ambassadors of Anara Midiere, the Archmagess of Luminii. Was it truly pure chance they arrived on the eve of a spate of brutal killings? Bishop Rahn claims it was. Have these men and women in the white tunics brought with them a mad man? Or perhaps are they themselves the perpetrators of these brutal and random killings? Can they truly be as neutral in the evil rebellion as they claim to be since Luminii declared to no longer be a part of the empire? Are there not too many horrible things happening since their arrival in our peaceful city? Common sense says, these men with their hidden agendas and who knows how many other secrets, should be viewed with high suspicion if not driven from Dreven at once. Bab's Gossipby Bab L. Ling Marriage bells seem to be the talk of the town these days. Havoc Sadani, the eldest son of prominent Klockwork Baron, Sherakai dan Rikash, plans to tie the knot soon with one of our own local seamstresses. The young man has been seen in and out of Miss Angelique Matteo's Boutique quite regularly. Perhaps our 'Angel' isn't quite the angel she portrays! Rumor also has it that Miss Bliss Lovejoy, merchant owner of A&B Ventures and the headmistress of the Dreven Academy of Trade, will soon be exchanging vows herself. The biggest question is who her husband-to-be is. Could it possibly be Raphael Dolek, one of our Klockwork Master's trusted Captains? It's well known she purchased his portrait at a charity function recently... Good luck to both couples! By Order of the Dreven Magistrate:Michael Barney was fined 127 gold and Jacob Bostwick 165 gold, for assault and battery. Mary Crippen, theft of property. Fined 230 gold, branded and incarcerated for the length of 30 days. Louis Whitman, assault and battery, fined 200 gold. Simon Green, charged with adultery, signed over all properties (including one Green Hats Haberdashery and one private residence in Primrose Lane) to his spouse, Lola Green, and spent the tenday following 21 Sunshare in the hanging cage in the town square. Clair Boddington, corespondent, in lieu of the surrender of all personal property to the government of Dreven, shall be incarcerated for the length of six full cycles.
